Green Revolution Cooling (GRC)’s transformative vision is to change the way data centers are designed, built, and operated. Since its inception in 2009, GRC has been a pioneer of single-phase immersion cooling technologies and is an industry leader, offering solutions that help companies grow computing power easily, cost-effectively, sustainably, and limitlessly.
GRC makes sure sustainability is a core principle throughout its company by ensuring that its products contribute to reducing energy consumption, carbon footprint, and eliminating fluorocarbons. GRC’s innovative liquid-cooled server racks have been carefully vetted by IT giants like Dell, Intel, and Vertiv, and subsequently, partnerships with these industry leaders were formed. Green Revolution Cooling’s product designs use biodegradable, non-toxic, no GWP, non-evaporative, chemically-inert materials wherever possible.
With installations in 20 countries worldwide, GRC’s patented immersion cooling solutions provide breakthrough growth and cost-saving potential in various areas of the technology industry. Liquid immersion cooling reduces the power demand of a data center and reuses waste in the form of heat from the servers for other applications.
Project Description & History
GRC provides sustainable and cost-effective solutions to key issues found in modern technologies such as Blockchain & Crypto, different types of data centers such as Enterprise, Cloud, and Hyperscale, Edge Computing data, and High-Performance Computing operations. Common issues in data centers include massive heat production and energy consumption from traditional servers, high costs, and a lack of ideal environments for proper infrastructure.
Traditional air-cooled data centers use enormous amounts of power-chilling air to remove heat from their servers and other IT equipment, subsequently wasting water that ejects heat from the data center to the environment. The switch from air cooling to liquid immersion cooling, using systems such as GRC’s new ICEraQ Series 10®, dramatically reduces power consumption, eliminates 90% of power used for cooling, and lowers overall data center power consumption by up to 50%. This drastically reduces water consumption, reduces carbon footprint up to 40%, and enables heat waste reuse opportunities. In addition, its Earth-friendly coolants have zero global warming potential (GWP). Liquid-cooled data centers also require far less infrastructure, eliminating a tremendous amount of e-waste as well.
Community Impact
Green Revolution Cooling’s state-of-the-art cooling technologies open a new door for businesses to become more sustainable and meet UN SDG goals. GRC’s models provide improved power and water availability for the community, reduced greenhouse gas emissions and noise outputs, and a more seamless transition to renewable energy sources.
As technology advances even further, there is an urgent need to track our ecological footprint created from these developments. The market for immersion cooling is projected to grow approximately 188% from $243 million in 2022 to $700 million by 2026. Through GRC’s innovation solutions, data center operators can achieve more cost-efficient models and reach sustainability targets.Read Green Revolution Cooling’s report on their sustainability efforts.
