PET Recycling Pilot Video Contest

Winning El Paso County High School Teams

– Contest Closed 9/27/22 –

Texan by Nature and Texans for Clean Water launched a 6-month recycling pilot in partnership with El Paso Sam’s Clubs. The project is designed to make the case for circularity in the plastics supply chain and better understand how to incentivize recycling. PET Pilot Recycling participants will have the option to get 10 cents per recycled item back to their bank account or donate the money to these El Paso non-profits. Learn more

Winning Teams

We asked El Paso County high school students to join us in taking care of Texas by producing an informational video about the PET Recycling Pilot at El Paso Sam’s Clubs and the importance of recycling, and they answered the call!

The Texan by Nature team received 19 video submissions from 36 students, and 4 videos made by 10 talented communication leaders were selected as winners. Each winning team’s participants received $150, totaling $1500 paid out to the next generation of leaders in sustainability and community engagement. Our thanks to all video competition participants, and congratulations to the winning teams!
