Waterloo Greenway Conservancy

Location: Austin, Texas

Waterloo Greenway Conservancy is a project created in 2010 by founders and community members to protect and repurpose the greenspace around Waller Creek Tunnel. In partnership with the City of Austin, Waterloo Greenway Conservancy is working to transform 1.5 miles of Waller Creek and 35 acres of downtown public land into an urban greenway consisting of park spaces, hike and bike trails, and a revitalized creek. The Waterloo Greenway is a project for the community that aims to redefine downtown life while being a protector and steward for Waller Creek. Once complete, the 1.5-mile park system will not only provide opportunities for the public to engage with urban wildlife space, but will allow the 35 acres of connected green space to house an array of natural and cultural elements, converging the environment, arts, health, and adventure.

Waterloo Greenway Conservancy became TxN Certified in 2024. View their TxN Certification page
