The Nature Conservancy (TNC)

Location: STATEWIDE, Texas

The Nature Conservancy works across Texas – and around the globe – to conserve and protect the lands and waters on which all life depends. Their on-the-ground conservation work is guided by science and propelled by partnerships. The Conservancy achieves lasting results and strives to create a broad coalition of people who understand a simple truth: conservation makes people’s lives better.

The Nature Conservancy works across the state to preserve the lands and waters of Texas. With 38 Texas nature preserves and conservation properties and more than 130 easements, the Conservancy has protected more than 900,000 acres in Texas to date. The Conservancy encourages innovation and experimentation at local and global scales to identify the kinds of actions that can drive systemic change, and places emphasis on fostering, using and exchanging the evidence base that underpins the conservation strategies being deployed around the world.

The Nature Conservancy’s Sandia Springs Wetlands Project received a TxN Certification in 2020. View the certification page here.
