Texas A&M Texas Water Resources Institute

The Texas Water Resources Institute (TWRI) helps solve pressing water challenges by providing scientific expertise and interdisciplinary partnerships and by communicating water resources research and educational efforts through outreach activities. TWRI is designated as the water resources research institute for the state of Texas and is a unit of Texas A&M AgriLife Research, the Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service, and the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences at Texas A&M University.

Engaging with local stakeholders and the water resources community, TWRI provides watershed and aquifer assessment and planning, water conservation research, project development and management, geospatial analysis, professional training, and public outreach. They connect research teams and communities to multidisciplinary expertise by serving as a gateway to a national network of water institutes, the Texas A&M University System and other universities and water resources organizations. TWRI programs include the Water Quality Improvement Program, the Water Sustainability Program, and the Water Resources Outreach and Training Program.
