Texas Botanical Gardens and Native American Interpretive Center

The Texas Botanical Gardens and Native American Interpretive Center promotes conservation, stewardship, and education. As an ecotourism destination showcasing Native American life ways and archeological sites, the focus is on native plants, wildlife, and the waterways of Central Texas. The mission of the Center is to provide a dynamic, interactive, lifelong learning experience while identifying, preserving and showcasing the rich prehistoric and environmental aspects of rural Central Texas.

The project consists of an interactive facility which features ethnobotanic gardens and the Native American Interpretive Center, which exhibits ancient Texans’ use of local plants and waterways, and the impact the natural environment of Central Texas had on their social, educational, spiritual, and cultural lives, designed for persons of all ages to explore. Educational offerings include seminars, lectures, workshops, film series, guided tours, Junior Historian and Junior Master Gardener programs, and after school and summer youth programs.
