Bexar Audubon Society

Location: CENTRAL, Texas

Bexar Audubon Society is San Antonio’s chapter of the National Audubon Society. Formed in 1983, their mission is to promote the conservation and protection of habitats for birds, other wildlife, and people. As a chapter of the National Audubon Society, Bexar Audubon Society works to maintain the same efforts and values as its parent organization. Additionally, the society also provides educational resources, research, and advocacy to spread awareness about the importance of conserving local bird habitats. Bexar Audubon Society also provides opportunities for children, adults, and families to get engaged through promoting local nature and outdoor events. Recently, the Bexar Audubon Society led an effort to certify San Antonio as a Bird City Texas, a program that promotes community engagement, habitat enhancement and protection, and creating a safe space for birds.
