Houston Wilderness invites all individuals and corporate groups to volunteer for the Houston Ship Channel TREES program. The HSC TREES program is a multi-year collaborative project facilitated by Houston Wilderness utilizing targeted large-scale tree plantings along the Houston Ship Channel to protect and restore riparian habitat as well as providing ecosystem services that combat climate change, urban heat island effect and improve the health of all Houstonians. Through the planting of the 14 Native Super Tree Species Houston Wilderness is contributing to Resilient Houston’s goal of 4.6 million trees by 2030.
