Stewarding Our Aquifer Field Day

October 13 @ 9:30 am - 1:30 pm

$20
Farmers, ranchers, agency personnel, educators, and the interested public are invited to attend the next Stewarding Our Aquifer Field Day presented by Ogallala Commons. Participants will learn about management practices that can reduce groundwater depletion in the region, improve playa management for recharge of the Ogallala Aquifer, and assist in the transition from irrigated agriculture to rainfed agriculture. During the event, there will be presentations about playa ecosystems and the Texas Playa Conservation Initiative, a drip irrigation project through the Texas Alliance for Water Conservation, and towns in Texas and Kansas that are employing playa restoration as a strategy for ensuring adequate groundwater supplies for the future of their communities. After a sandwich lunch, the group will go into the field for a tour.
