Dr. Cummings, a professor from Tarleton State University and manager of the Aquaponics Hydrotron, will be discussing Aquaponics, a sustainable system in which the participants will learn about growing plants, like lettuce, using fish, fish food, coco coir, vermiculite, plant seeds, chelated, iron, potassium, and rain water. Designing an aquaponics system, germinating seeds, transferring seedlings, pruning plants, and rearing and harvesting fish will also be discussed. Dr. Cummings earned his degrees from UNC-Chapel Hill and North Carolina State University.
